The best bridal shower games are short, need no explaining, and are about the couple rather than about embarrassing anyone. Two or three games is plenty for a two-hour shower.
Five that work
1. Bridal shower bingo
Guests get a card of likely gifts and cross them off as gifts are opened. It keeps everyone watching the gift opening, which is otherwise the slowest part of the day.
2. The newlywed game
The couple answer questions about each other back to back. Works best with the partner there in person or on a video call.
3. He said, she said
Collect real quotes from the couple beforehand and guests guess who said each one. The answers are always better than anything you’d write.
4. A crossword about the couple
Answers like where they met and the name of their first pet. Good for quieter guests and for tables during lunch.
5. The shoe game
More of a reception game, but works at a shower too. Quick, loud and needs no printing beyond the questions.
Tips
- Print one extra card per game for late arrivals.
- Have small prizes ready: candles, flowers, chocolate.
- Play a game during the gift opening, not after it.
- Skip anything that needs more than one sentence of rules.
