Mourning has been historically important to people of various religions, cultures, and civilizations. It is an outward expression of grief after the loss of someone or something significant in one’s life; this can include a loved one, pet, home, job – anything that had meaning to the individual. There are different customs and rituals within different cultures and religions on how to mourn another person or thing, but it will almost always involve grieving (i.e.: crying), praying (i.e.: pleading with a higher power for help), and remembering (i.e.: reminiscing about the good times).
